Abstract

Gringsing weaving is one of the local weaving products that has uniqueness and distinctiveness compared to other woven fabrics, the most dominant thing is the manufacturing process that uses complicated techniques, motifs and patterns. The weaving process is carried out by sitting on the floor with an average time spent for 7-8 hoursin 1 day. Working in a sitting position for a relatively long period of time can lead to various health problems, such as weak abdominal muscles due to lack of physical activity. This research is a preliminary observational study conducted on three weaving workers. This research aims to determine ergonomic risks so that anticipatory efforts can be made to prevent the emergence of subjective complaints and musculoskeletal complaints. The general fatigue factor was estimated using a 30-item fatigue questionnaire with a four-point Likert scale, while skeletal muscle complaints were estimated based on the Nordic Body Map questionnaire and the Quick Exposure Check method, descriptive and inferential statistical testing was carried out on workload, general fatigue, and skeletal muscle complaints. The results showed that the workload of gringsing weaving workers was in the light workload category, there was an increase in muscle complaints by 78%, an increase in fatigue by 63% and based on the exposure level value,it was found that one worker needed further investigation with an exposure level value of 81.5%. It can be concluded that there is an increase in fatigue and an increase in muscle complaints in gringsing weaving workers after work
